Final exam

Format

The final exam will be conducted through a 10-minute in-person meeting with one of the main instructors (John Barton or Shikhar Uttam). In this meeting, we will review a randomly selected homework assignment from earlier in the course. You should be prepared to describe your solutions to the homework questions, explaining how you approached each problem and your choices for implementing your solution. For the meeting, please bring a laptop or tablet with your homework assignments readily accessible and ready for review.

Rubric

• A+: mastery of the concepts underlying the homework assignment, with a demonstrated ability to generalize and respond to questions beyond the specific ones in the assignment
• A: clear understanding of the homework questions, ability to rationally explain the approach to solutions
• B: some gaps in understanding solutions and/or underlying principles, challenges in motivating or explaining some parts of homework solutions
• $\leq$C: consistent gaps in understanding of solutions and key underlying principles, inability to explain the approach to solving multiple parts of the homework or how the code functions

Exam dates

December 2 and December 4 during normal lecture times, time slots will be determined for each student and arranged a week in advance
